The Enjin Coin team has introduced a blockchain based gaming platform named Efinity. Based on the Lightning network for gaming, Efinity seeks to replace Ethereum and Bitcoin based gaming platforms, perceived to be slow and expensive. Before the introduction of the lightning network for gaming, blockchain developers have been struggling with the challenge of slow speed and high costs.
Since its inception, Enjin Coin has been on the front-line to develop a scalable gaming solution for mainstream games. That objective seems to be gaining momentum with the introduction of Efinity, which promises highly scalable gaming transactions. Games signing up on the Efinity games channel will be able to settle millions of transactions between players and the game server while enjoying high speeds and low costs. All transactions on the Efinity network will be verified using the Ethereum blockchain.
Additionally, Efinity will support more functionalities, including token transfers and approvals, escrow of token, bundles, non fungible tokens and recording of metadata attached to games. The Enjin Coin team, which will be working on the new network will launch a testnet version in Q2. The network will be launched publicly in Q3.
Pat LaBine, Head of Devtech at Enjin said that a mass of developers will soon realize Enjin Coin’s potential as a break out as an innovative blockchain based gameplay. The firm plans to create trustless mechanisms for game channels once it completes installing the core transanctional features.
At the same time, the Enjin Coin team has announced an updated road-map which will position it as a strategic coin. Following a series of meetings with developers who are adopting Enjin Coin, the team has also added new features that support advanced systems. The team’s main focus has been on improving speeds.
The Enjin team has also announced an updated wallet for Android, with an IOS wallet slated for a Q1 release. Additionally, the team is launching EnjinX blockchain explorer, a web-based platform which will provide users with a rich browsing experience. In March, the developer team will debut the Java SDK, Unity and Minecraft plugins.
